Thank you so much for having me on #BreakingBarriers tonight. I’ll
be speaking shortly on Developing a winning strategy.

Just like in the military, to win any battle the general has to come
up with a good strategy to conquer. #BreakingBarriers

In times like this, it takes a winning strategy to actually succeed.

For every door or lock, there is a SPECIFIC key to unlock or open it.

Firstly, I’ll like to say that there is no one strategy to win life’s
battle. Not every key opens every door. #BreakingBarriers

It is foolishness to keep trying a strategy or method that hasn’t
produced your desired result. #BreakingBarriers

Is advisable to RETREAT and RE-STRATEGIZE to come up with an
appropriate strategy to tackle the challenge. #BreakingBarriers

Style of play a coach employs to winning a match #BreakingBarriers

Like in the game of football, there are so many FORMATIONS or #BreakingBarriers

There are times you need to be OFFENSIVE & times to be
DEFENSIVE in winning life’s battle. #BreakingBarriers

In developing a winning strategy, you need to understand & analyse
carefully what you’re about to embark on. #BreakingBarriers

Sir Martin Sorrell said & I quote “you’re never too old to reinvent
yourself”. Evaluate your strategy. #BreakingBarriers

To be successful means knowing how to use your resources to the
best ADVANTAGE #BreakingBarriers

To win in the business world, you need to run analysis on the
market, the customer & your competitors #BreakingBarriers

Examine OPPORTUNITIES & THREATS that might possibly arise.

In this times of economic meltdown, I suggest you make cutting
down on your expenditures a strategy to avoid being broke.

For those in business, focus on the market and initiate low cost
marketing programs. #BreakingBarriers

Think counter cyclically, keep competitors off guard avoiding the
obvious. #BreakingBarriers

Strengthen commitment to critical areas while others are cutting
back. Areas like customer service. #BreakingBarriers

Be ready for the UNEXPECTED, and FACTORS that are beyond your
control. Make rooms for them in your planning. #BreakingBarriers

Study the past and learn from it, be innovative about it becos
history does repeat itself. #BreakingBarriers

It is important to learn from your past FAILURES and SUCCESSES.

REALISTIC & TIME BOUND. #BreakingBarriers

Be committed to your GOALS and the STRATEGIES laid out to
achieving your GOALS. #BreakingBarriers

In developing a winning strategy, you need to EVALUATE yourself.
What are your STRONG points and resources at your disposal.

Establish a SPECIFIC areas you want to SUCCEED.

Build yourself to be able to handle the SUCCESS you desire.
Maximize the resources at your disposal #BreakingBarriers

I’ll conclude with this; no matter how FANTASTIC your strategy
might be, if you don’t excuse them there’s NO SUCCESS

Be flexible with your strategy but the over all GOALS shouldn’t
change. #BreakingBarriers

Your STRATEGIES must meet your desired RESULT. You must
blend the PHYSICAL & the SPIRITUAL to achieve result

Finally, there is no winning STRATEGY without a relationship with a
WINNING God. #BreakingBarriers

Thank you #BreakingBarriers

#BreakingBarriers WEEK 20

1. One day, everything seems great in your world—maybe not perfect.

2. You lose your job, or someone you love, or your home, or maybe even your health.

3. Yours might be emotional or psychological issue you battling with.. Sigh! We all have ISSUES.

4. Probably you trapped in the fear of unknown, afraid to make strategic decision.

5. Seems like the world is crumbling before you? You can’t help it but complain?

6. Sometimes you wish the world will come to an end and the struggles should vanish in a second.

7. Though you smile and laugh with people, but inside you far be it! Hmmm
8. It isn’t fair. You don’t deserve it. You didn’t see it coming. You didn’t plan for it. Right?

9. You have so many feelings and frustrations you don’t know what to do first—or if you want to do anything at all.

10. Whatever you’re dealing with, is it really the end of the world?

11. Especially for those who have no one to tell us to stop crying! Crying is not a sign of weakness FYI.

12. Or some of us who find it difficult to CRY even though the situation is painful to our bone marrow.

13. Life is not fair I agree. Some things happen to you that you can’t explain WHY.

14. The question WHY ME seem mysterious to some as answers never come.

15. Either you are at a cross road to make that decision that will affect (Negative/positive) your life.

16. There in the midst of despair, emotional imbalance and obsession of negativity how do you get out?

17. To someone out there, in the midst of economy challenges, survival seems impossible.

18. Maybe it just dawn on you that life will never be the same as usual and you fearfully trying to cope.

19. No one cares, unconditional love is rare this days but few folks still show and share.

20. To some self-pity party sound like the best way out. NO! It’s your life face it.

21. Few people see through your eyes! Not everyone will understand your STRUGGLES.

23. It would be easier to sit around feeling bad, looking for people to blame and complain to.

24. rehearsing what you could have done to make things happen differently.
25. Feeling outraged about life’s injustices won’t change the fact that things are often random and beyond your control.

26. Or what you would have done if you only realized before. Or what other people should have done to help you.

27. Dealing with your STRUGGLES can be a lot like dealing with grief, and people often go through the same stages: shock and denial, pain and guilt, anger and bargaining.

28. You have to do this eventually when something bad happens, and the faster you do it, the sooner you’ll improve your situation.

29. Sometimes you need to reset your life, pick the broken pieces and make a creativity design of your life.

30. You are powerful more than you think you that nothing just happen in your life.

31. At a point in my life I was stuck and struggles of life overwhelm me to a point I felt it’s not possible to survive it.

32. Thought men can help me little did I know that my CHANGE and SUCCESS starts from ME.

33. You can’t afford to die in your struggles! You are not BORN a FAILURE in LIFE.

34. it’s not a mistake you are where or who you are today!

35. When throw bricks at you what do you make out of it? Mansion? Bridge, Steps?

36. In your challenges and troubles there is hope and great things ahead of you.

37. Nothing happens in life until you come to knowledge of truth and apply them accordingly.

38. The state of your consciousness about your life will go a long way to drive you to succeed or fail in life.

39. If you lost your job, perhaps the life lesson is to determine your true purpose. If your relationship falls apart, the life lesson may be to become more independent.

40. Focusing on the lesson allows you to work on positive change, which will make you feel empowered instead of deflated.

41. Whenever I deal with adversity, I remind myself to keep my head high as that’s not the end.

42. This too shall PASS!! Tell yourself every time.

43. You have the capacity to navigate through your struggles, only if you can calibrate where you are STUCK in life.

44. Don’t wait for your feelings to change to take action. Take the action and your feelings will change.

45. Believe in YOU. Listen to your soul. Trust your instincts. Acknowledge your own  strengths.

46. Dream it and dare it. Do what you are afraid of, and capable of.

47.Your struggles of today is meant to shape you to a better person for tomorrow don’t KILL the PROCESS!

48. You can’t always get what you want, but you can work at being who you want to be no matter what life throws at you

49. Let go of that which you cannot control and enjoy the moment.

50. You are not your problems or your crisis, your problem is how you manage and respond to LIFE.

Thanks fam ❤❤❤ for staying tune tonight on #BreakingBarriers.

#BreakingBarriers WEEK 19

Controlling your demons .. When I say demons it seems scary doesn’t it ? But everyone of us have one.. #BreakingBarriers

It’s so easy to lock yourself then go through the routine. That’s where your self will comes into play. #BreakingBarriers

I have to fight that urge! It will be very hard because it’s “familiar”  …it seems like the right thing to do. #BreakingBarriers

Now I am aware of the pattern so when I fail at a project when I begin to beat myself up and see I’m locking myself in the room #BreakingBarriers

Everything becomes negative. . Slowly but surely..chronic depression Is setting in.. #BreakingBarriers

Then I lock myself in the room.. then search for alcohol or drugs to “help” forget it .. #BreakingBarriers

It works for an hour..after the “high”..I’m back to square 1..sad . depression is kicking in. I begin to think of other things I failed in. #BreakingBarriers

For example. I am an over achiever (perfectionist my demon is depression because if it’s not perfect I look down on myself) #BreakingBarriers

Now I am aware of it. What do i do next? #BreakingBarriers

You just believe it’s just my “character “..there’s nothing I can do. #BreakingBarriers

So how exactly do you control it ? #BreakingBarriers

1. Be aware of your demons – if you do not know what your demons are ; you will lack the ability to even see that it’s destroying you. #BreakingBarriers

2. Be aware of the patterns – So if I have suffered depression before and I know that it starts slowly.. I over analyse the failure.. #BreakingBarriers

What I have seen that our demons always try to find a way to ruin our lives I know it seems like I’m ” reaching ” but it’s the plain truth #BreakingBarriers

And even when you think you have it under control..  It finds a way! Always looking for that crack to creep back out. #BreakingBarriers

Only you truly know what your demons are! And only you can fight them, so you have to make the tough decision to do it and not be ruled by it. #BreakingBarriers

Check yourself and make sure you not slipping back #BreakingBarriers

If it’s not controlled properly. So always have an inner dialogue with yourself..#BreakingBarriers

You still need to keep watching yourself , because it’s in you .it’s a character flaw that can surface anytime #BreakingBarriers

However keep in mind that when you done with the journey and you feel you rehabilitated. #BreakingBarriers

If you feel you can’t do it alone; your self will isn’t so strong. Go out and ask for help, we have people who can help you with the journey #BreakingBarriers

It’s not the end of the world. You will get out eventually , know it’s a process
It’s all in the mind! You can stop by following those 2 steps. #BreakingBarriers

For some peeps who can’t stop stealing/ acting out wen angry etc and they promise that it’s the last time but they “feel” they can’t control it #BreakingBarriers

Now! While you going through this process. Know that you might fail! And it’s perfectly okay! #BreakingBarriers

You need to know it’s a battle and in battles.. You need to come prepared! And be willing to fight for your freedom #BreakingBarriers

@dayus4heaven thank you so much for having me on #BreakingBarriers

#BreakingBarriers WEEK 18

1. Good evening all, it’s a great pleasure to be here today. Thanks to (Dayo) @dayus4heaven and the #BreakingBarriers Team for hosting me.

2. With people like ‘Dayo (@dayus4heaven) who deem it fit to hold sessions like this, I’m confident Nigeria will be great. #BreakingBarriers

3. Today’s discourse is on VALUE SYSTEM! There is no better time to have a conversation on this very important subject… #BreakingBarriers

4. This is because Nigeria is at a critical time where our VALUE SYSTEM is crucial in achieving the change we so desire. #BreakingBarriers

5. SCOPE: I’d cover 4 areas: WHAT (definitions), WHY (purpose), HOW (ways and approaches to Value Systems)), and WHEN? #BreakingBarriers

6. Let’s start with the WHAT? I will be breaking down the definitions into two: VALUES and SYSTEM. Follow me closely… #BreakingBarriers

7. ‘VALUES’ can be seen from 2 angles: first, “is the REGARD that something is held to deserve; importance, worth.” (wiki) #BreakingBarriers

8. VALUES can also be “a person’s principles or standards of behavior; one’s judgment of what is important in life” (wiki) #BreakingBarriers

9. For the purpose of today’s discourse, we’d discuss VALUES from the context of the 2nd definition provided in (8) above. #BreakingBarriers

10. A “SYSTEM” is “a set of principles or procedures according to which something is done; an organized scheme…” (Wiki) #BreakingBarriers

11. A “system” is formed when it is “a set of connected things or parts forming a complex whole, in particular.” (Wiki) #BreakingBarriers

12. From the foregoing, a VALUE SYSTEM is “the standard that an individual or group considers acceptable or unacceptable.” #BreakingBarriers

13. A Value System can be upheld at different levels: Personal, Family, Corporate, Societal/Cultural, and National. #BreakingBarriers

14. When an individual upholds a ‘Personal Value System’, it means she/he has uncompromisable principles that guides them. #BreakingBarriers

15. When a family have a Value System, it means they have specific sets of values that guides the running of the family. #BreakingBarriers

16. In such family, for instance, you’d never find members of the family engage in acts that negates their Value System. #BreakingBarriers

17. A society is said to uphold a Value System when they so live by their principles that it becomes their definition. #BreakingBarriers

18. Same applies for countries; where by mere visiting you would almost immediately ‘smell’ the values they hold so dear. #BreakingBarriers

19. ‘Values’ only become a ‘system’ where it’s adhered to so consistently that it becomes the definition of the holder(s). #BreakingBarriers

20. Corporate organizations develop ‘Core Values’ so as to eventually have a ‘Value System’ that later becomes a ‘Culture’ #BreakingBarrers

21. Firms have ‘Core Values’ so that of the many ‘Values’ that exist, they choose some they consider primary and sufficient. #BreakingBarriers

22. Note: having specific sets of ‘Core Values’ does not mean that other ‘not-core’ values are useless or less important. #BreakingBarriers

23. Having succinctly described ‘what’ Value System is about, let’s move to ‘WHY’ we (should) have a strong Value System. #BreakingBarriers

24. Why 1: A Value System is crucial so as to have CONSISTENT BEHAVIOURS with which the holders can be defined with. #BreakingBarriers

25. Why 2: Value System GUIDES the holders on what’s expected and unexpected; as well as what’s acceptable and unacceptable #BreakingBarriers

26. Why 3: Value System PREVENTS CONFLICTS as respecting shared values reduce frictions that may escalate into conflicts. #BreakingBarriers

27. Why 4: Value System helps a nation developing POLICIES AND LAWS as citizens are guided on what the nation holds dear. #BreakingBarriers

28. Why 5: Value System DISTINGUISHES people, especially when such values are adhered to outside their normal habitation. #BreakingBarriers

29. Why 6: Value System helps INFLUENCE people to conform and align as those upholding them can inspire others to do same. #BreakingBarriers

30. Why 7: Value System helps to UNIFY people as agreed and shared values makes people feel part of a collective fold. #BreakingBarriers

31. Why 8: When people are unified and connected by unanimously agreed share values, then NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT is possible. #BreakingBarriers

32. An individual without values they unflinchingly uphold will find it difficult to adhere to the national Value System. #BreakingBarriers

33. So, it’s not about having National Value System, it starts from bottom: individual, family, society, then to national. #BreakingBarriers

34. Having discussed the ‘what’ and ‘why’ of Value System, let’s now see HOW to develop a Value System. Follow me closely! #BreakingBarriers

35. How 1: Having a Value System starts by identifying specific values that one intends to portray and be defined by. #BreakingBarriers

36. How 2: Having identified, DEFINE what each of the values mean to the holder (individual, family, society, nation, etc). #BreakingBarriers

37. How 2b: While each value have general meanings, it is important to streamline the definition to what it means to you. #BreakingBarriers

38. How 2c: For instance, what ‘Integrity” (as a value) mean to you, can be different from what it means to another person. #BreakingBarriers

39. How 2d: Suffice to say to identify, select, and define values, it must be done collectively, expect for individual VS. #BreakingBarriers

40. How 3: Having identified/selected and defined the specific values, then COMMUNICATE them. This helps in accountability. #BreakingBarriers

41. How 4: UPHOLD (or live by) the values. The holders must ensure that at every opportunity, they adhere to their values. #BreakingBarriers

42. How 4b: Values become a system when it is consistently and unwaveringly adhered to. #BreakingBarriers

43. How 5: It is not enough to just be upholding the values, EVALUATE how the holder(s) are fairing in adherence. #BreakingBarriers

44. How 5b: Once you are able to evaluate, you can adjust and improve on the journey to having a strong Value System. #BreakingBarriers

45. Having discussed the ‘what’, ‘why’, and ‘how’ of Value System, let’s move to the ‘WHEN.’ #BreakingBarriers

46. WHEN should you have a Value System? It’s not an event, but a process. Values becoming a system build up over time. #BreakingBarriers

47. WHEN should you start the process of having a Value System? NOW! #BreakingBarriers

48. WHEN should you uphold your values so it later becomes a system: IN AND OUT OF SEASON; that is every time, regardless. #BreakingBarriers

49. With these, I’ve come to the end of this session. We treated the topic: VALUE SYSTEM. This is by no means exhaustive. #BreakingBarriers

A huge THANK YOU to Adedayo Olabamiji (@dayus4heaven) and the entire #BreakingBarriers team for hosting me today. God bless you all.

10 Brilliant ways to confront (and overcome) fear

Fear is an emotion. But there’s probably nothing more crippling to ourselves and our clients. In most cases, fear is the very bondage that keeps us stuck doing what we’re doing even though we hate it.

It’s something that can appear in an instant without even knowing where it came from. But it can also disappear just as fast – we just need to know how to handle it.

Here are 10 Brilliant Ways that We Can kick off Fear

1. Take everything as a lesson –  No matter what happens, it always better prepares you for what’s next. With this mindset, ultimate failure is impossible.

2. Find people who have successfully done it before –  Find your models and mentors. You’re likely not alone in your quest. Befriend them. Understand what they went through and how to approach the fears that are going to come up. No fear is worse than that of the unknown. Find out what’s coming.

3. Find people who’ve eaten the wrong mushrooms –  Many of us enjoy mushrooms, but probably have never thanked the people who lost their lives so that we could have an appetizer at Chili’s. I’ve personally tasted failure, and I try to help leaders avoid it.

4. Purposely go out and experience failure –  Instead of avoiding it, seek it out. Get turned down. Start getting some “no’s.” Go experience what you’re so scared of. It’s not nearly as bad as you think it is.

5. Set real expectations –  Often things take longer than expected. Take that to heart so it doesn’t hit you too hard if you experience a delay.

6. Become an absolute expert –  Study up. Learn everything you can about your space. Under-preparation is a leading cause of failure. It’s also completely in your control.

7. Understand what you truly stand to gain from your success –  If your reasons for accomplishing something are compelling enough, nothing can stop you. Find the right reason and let it triggers you to be productive.

8. Realize what you have to lose if you don’t go after what you care about –  What will it mean for your health, your family, your excitement or the impact you won’t have on the world? Fear of missing out can be the biggest motivator of all. Take calculative RISK.

9. Understand your worst case scenario –  It’s never as bad as you think. Often it’s a lot closer to your current scenario than most people realize. Let your worst case empower you. Let it be a source of courage to do more and a stepping stone to greatness.

10. Collaborate  and get a support team in Place – Don’t work on things all alone. Doubt is too close to fend off by yourself. Bring on a partner or teammate. Do life with people with similar businesses and similar goals who can support you, give you ideas, and keep you accountable. They can make the lows not quite as low and highs even higher.
