THOUGHT LEADERSHIP & LEVERAGING NEW MEDIA

1. Following my resignation from paid  job as an engineer. I’d been employed for 10 years. #BreakingBarriers

2. I’m now focused on thought leadership. However, how did I get to the point of conviction and eventual exit? #BreakingBarriers

3. In 2006 I first had glimpses into the future that my life wanted to play in. I believed it, but I had to strategize. #BreakingBarriers

4. Thus began my journey into the world of helping others become exceptional. #BreakingBarriers

5. A thought leader is one who is an expert in a topic that is an inch and mile deep.#BreakingBarriers

6. Thought leaders are people who deeply understand the business they’re in. #BreakingBarriers

7. By business, I mean an enterprise ( a vehicle of conveyance) that sells an ideology which changes the face of humanity. #BreakingBarriers

8. If you’ve got unique insights to share on issues bothering humanity, then you’re a thought leader. #BreakingBarriers

9. If you’ve internalised lessons that can be translated into your own relatable experience, you’re a thought leader.#BreakingBarriers

10. Thought leaders package ideas in formats to change the way people think. #BreakingBarriers

11. Thought leaders are not only talking, they’re doing things and teaching others how to do it. #BreakingBarriers

12. When you figure out how to solve a problem and teach others how to solve their own problems, you’re a thought leader.#BreakingBarriers

13. Having discovered that I could help people to clarify their giftings and use them profitably, I needed to showcase. #BreakingBarriers

14. To become an influential thought leader, your ideologies must be communicated clearly to your tribe. #BreakingBarriers

15. Becoming influential means becoming famous to the family of people who adore and cherish what you do. #BreakingBarriers

16. To this, you have to be consistent at publishing your thoughts by sharing them on your platform. #BreakingBarriers

17. A platform is symbolical. It’s akin to the stage that an evangelist stands on to share the good news to the people. #BreakingBarriers

18. So to be heard and seen, you need a platform to stand on to communicate your ideologies. #BreakingBarriers

19. And for me, starting out, I couldn’t go to the traditional media because of cost. I embraced the new media. #BreakingBarriers

20. In 2011 I became intentional on Facebook, dishing my unique thoughts on organizational leadership & exceptional living.#BreakingBarriers

21. I’d show up everyday to share my thoughts in these areas, not copying and pasting others, but being unique. #BreakingBarriers

22. The new media is such an awesome playground that can fit you big dreams. You can reach millions with a click. #BreakingBarriers

23. When you show up and publish your thoughts consistently on social media, three things happen to you. #BreakingBarriers

24. You increase the perception of expertise that people have about you. Folks take note of intelligent thoughts. #BreakingBarriers
You increase the trust and dependability that people have in you. You shore up your social capital. That’s key. #BreakingBarriers

26. You begin to attract patronage from folks whom you have become famous to by virtue of your consistency and uniqueness. #BreakingBarriers

27. To do these, you MUST be careful not to dish thoughts that are watery just because you want to share. #BreakingBarriers

28. When you focus overwhelmingly on helping people solve their challenges, you become God unto them. We worship divinity. #BreakingBarriers

29. It’s not about the gimmick, nor the style, but about the peculiarity of your own communication. #BreakingBarriers

30. As a thought leader, some things can come naturally to you. #BreakingBarriers

32. The publishability of your content is key, but the route is anchored on your own peculiarity. #BreakingBarriers

33. I’ve seen folks buckle up under a few months of blogging because they couldn’t keep up with writing posts. #BreakingBarriers

34. Find a platform and stick to it. If it’s to appear on video, do so. If it’s to record your voice, do so. #BreakingBarriers

35. Earning by being a thought leader is a commingling between the forces of trust, consistency and uniqueness. #BreakingBarriers

36. The principles may be the same, but the particularity of the routes matters.#BreakingBarriers

37. It’s not about the gimmick, but your decision to publish your  expertise to the world via your own path and    peculiarity.#BreakingBarriers

38. Your ability to stir the hearts of people as a thought leader is such a powerful endeavour. #BreakingBarriers

39. Growing communities of people who are helped by what you do ensures a consistent flow of income. #BreakingBarriers

40. Serving your tribe with dedication and genuineness of heart is a sure way to leave imprints on the sands of time. #BreakingBarriers
