1/We use barriers as an escape clause for dealing with pain and discomfort.

2/Sometimes it’s easier to use an obstacle as an excuse for not moving forward because we fear failure or embarrassment if we don’t succeed.

3/Our greatest achievements will be realized when we’re completely exhausted and discouraged but keep working through our challenge.

4/When it’s all said and done, it really doesn’t matter if we try several times and fail many times,

5/We eventually learn how to succeed. It does matter, however, if we try and fail, and never try again.

6/At this point in your life STOP making excuses why things are not done.

7/Here is where self-discipline must be seen as your lifestyle.

8/The key to finding a way through barriers in your life comes from excavating the significance of your own stories and finding strength in them.

9/If you’ve done it in the past, you can do it again. And each time, you get smarter about it.

10/Strong minds use the same strengths that made them successful in the past to get them through tough times in the future.

11/Without obstacles, there is no greatness in your achievement.

12/ Barriers provide the struggle that makes the triumph worthwhile.

13/ Successful people know that the difference between “try” and “triumph” is a little “umph

14/Every aspect of physical and emotional growth arrives outside of your comfort zone.

15/Have the courage to move forward if the risks feel right.

16/Stretch yourself even if it means feeling uncomfortable. Barriers are things to push against to grow stronger.

17/ If you’re not a little bit uncomfortable on a daily basis it means you’re not growing.

18/If you’re not a little bit scared everyday, you’re not learning. And when you’re not learning, you’re done.

19/Barriers draw out strength and qualities that would lay dormant otherwise.

20/As a result, you become the product of your experience, knowledge, and wisdom.

21/The more time, energy, and money you spend acquiring pertinent information about your strengths and qualities, the more control you have over your life

22/Sometimes things must change so you can change.

23/Sometimes you must break a little so you can peek inside to see the power of your own life and story.

24/Sometimes mistakes must be made so wisdom can be earned. Sometimes rejecting barriers and obstacles is to reject life itself

25/By breaking through barriers with intention, we take more control of how our character develops

26/The biggest factor in determining whether or not you will succeed is your attitude.

27/The real winners in life cultivate optimism.

28/People who maintain a positive attitude see the world as a place packed with endless opportunities, especially when breaking through barriers that threaten to keep their world small.

29/The only difference between an obstacle and an opportunity is our attitude toward it — every opportunity has a difficulty, and every difficulty has an opportunity.

30/Opportunities and barriers are two sides of the same coin: they force us to stretch ourselves and our comfort zones

31/Most successful people don’t accept failure and then move on to something different: they try and try again exactly where they failed

32/ I put it to you reason why you need to take RISK in life,,,,,

33/A head full of fears has no space for dreams.”

34/Fear of the unknown hinders lots of people from taking RISk

35/We tend to overestimate risk and underestimate opportunity;

36/The truth is that what you risk reveals what you value.

37/It’s natural to focus heavily upon the negative consequences of what might go wrong.

38/The unknown can seem terrifying and impossible to achieve

39/Sometimes we are going to be at a crossroads where we are going to face with a major decision which may involve some risk-taking

40/You cannot swim for new horizons until you have courage to lose sight of the shore

41/It doesn’t interest me how old you are risk-taking is inevitable to make progress.

42/ I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.

43/Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.” — T.S. Eliot

44/Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.”

45/Risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing

46/To make significance progress in life you must take RISK, dare your obstacles and see great results.

47/A ship is always safe at the shore – but that is NOT what it is built for, you are not meant you sleep at your comfort zone

48/You have to take risk,we will only understand the miracle of life fully when we allow the unexpected to happen.

49/Run the risk of being different, but learn to do so without attracting attention. Let your achievement speaks for you

50/You must note that never was anything great achieved without danger.”

51/To hope is to risk pain, to try is to risk failure, but risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in my life is to risk nothing

52/Don’t be intimidated by other people’s opinions. Only mediocrity is sure of itself, so take risks and do what you really want to do.

53/If you expect life to be easy, challenges will seem difficult. If you accept that challenges may occur, life will be easier.

54/I challenge you to take that RISK today and make a difference in your life.

I remain your agent of Barriers Breaker #BreakingBarriers

Power Of Beliefs:

How Our Meanings Decide Our Destiny

What is a belief? It’s a feeling of certainty about what something means. The challenge is that most of our beliefs are generalizations about our past, based on our interpretations of painful and pleasurable experiences.

The challenge is, most of us do not consciously decide what we’re going to believe. Instead, often our beliefs are misinterpretations of past events. How do ideas turn into beliefs? Think of an idea like a tabletop with no legs. Without any legs, the tabletop won’t even stand up by itself. Belief, on the other hand, has legs. To believe something, you have references to support the idea—specific experiences that back up the belief. These are the legs that make your tabletop solid and that make you certain about your beliefs.

For example, if you believe you’re extremely intelligent, you likely have a lot of references to back it up. Maybe you did well in school, people always tell you how smart you are, you catch onto things quickly, etc. You can find experiences to back up almost any belief. The key is to make sure that you’re consciously aware of the beliefs you’re creating. If they don’t empower you, change them.

All personal breakthroughs begin with a change in beliefs.

The moment we begin to honestly question our beliefs and the experiences we assign to them, we no longer feel absolutely certain about them. This opens the door to replacing your old, disempowering beliefs with new beliefs that support you in the direction you want to go.

If you develop the absolute sense of certainty that powerful beliefs provide, then you can get yourself to accomplish virtually anything, including those things other people are certain are impossible.

Here are ten examples of empowering beliefs to try on:

1. The past does not equal the future.
2. There is always a way if I’m committed.
3. There are no failures, only outcomes—as long as I learn something I’m succeeding.
4. If I can’t, I must; if I must, I can.
5. Everything happens for a reason and a purpose that serves me.
6. I find great joy in little things… a smile… a flower… a sunset.
7. I give more of myself to others than anyone expects.
8. I create my own reality and am responsible for what I create.
9. If I’m confused, I’m about to learn something.
10. Every day above ground is a great day.

Steps to Release “Limiting Beliefs” Learned From Childhood

“We learn our belief systems as very little children, and then we move through life creating experiences to match our beliefs. Look back in your own life and notice how often you have gone through the same experience.” -Louise L. Hay

Last month, I talked about limiting decisions, how they can be formed and how they negatively impact our lives. I asked you to start unearthing your own limiting decisions by asking yourself a few questions:

A. What are the results you’ve produced in the various areas of your life?

B.  Why are your results not in alignment with what you really want to be, do or have?

C.  What area of your life have you really tried to improve but, no matter what, things just didn’t get better?

Your limiting decisions are hiding out in the areas where you’re producing results that you don’t want.

Your limiting decisions have shaped everything you do. They have prevented you from seeing opportunities and maybe even discouraged you from trying at all. Time to bring them out of hiding! Once you do that, you have choice.

So how to identify those pesky devils?

First, what do you say to yourself about that area? For example, if you’re having trouble finding a relationship, maybe you explain it with something like, “Women only want men who have a lot of money” or “Guys are only interested in younger women.”Anything you say to yourself to justify why it isn’t working out for you is a limiting belief.

Will that belief sound true to you? Of course! It will sound perfectly reasonable and valid and you probably can come up with lots of evidence supporting it! But it’s still a belief that is getting in the way of what you want. So unless you’re willing to totally give up on your goals and desires, it’s a limiting decision that you don’t want to keep around.

Sometimes limiting decisions are not that conscious. Maybe you’ve learned to squelch your negative thoughts before they get revv’d up, and you’ve have gotten good at positive self-talk. So you don’t hear any limiting beliefs in your head. But you’ll know you’ve still got a limiting decision lurking if your emotions are negative about that area.

For example, if you’re bogged down with financial pressures, how do you feel about it? Anxious? Angry? Hopeless? If you stay with that emotion and acknowledge it for a moment, you’ll find the limiting belief right beneath it. For example, anxiety might be saying, “What will people think of me?”Anger might reflect “Life isn’t fair to people like me.” Underneath hopelessness might be, “I’m just not strong enough or smart enough to figure this out.”

Now that you’ve dragged some of those limiting beliefs out of the closet, what do you do with them?

Step 1: Write the limiting belief down. Play detective and follow your thoughts and emotions to discover the limiting beliefs that hold you back. Put them on paper and stare them in the face! You might note how strong each belief is and what emotions they elicit in you.

Step 2: Acknowledge that these are beliefs, not truths! This is often the hardest step. “But, but, my limitations are real!” Here’s the place where choice comes in. Which are you more interested in: defending your limitations to the death or achieving your goals and desires? As author Evelyn Waugh wrote, “When we argue for our limitations, we get to keep them.” You choose.

Step 3: Try on a different belief. Use your imagination and try on a belief that is aligned with what you want. It might be something like, “My financial difficulties in the past have taught me so much that I’m fully prepared to handle them now!” Or, “Now that I’ve been in an unhealthy relationship I’ve learned what to look for in a happy, loving partner!”

The trick is to go beyond just saying it. You want to really step into this new belief and feel how it feels. Done thoroughly, Steps 2 and 3 will go a long way to dismantling your old limiting decision.

Step 4: Take different action. This might feel scary, but act as if your new belief is true. In other words, if you really are the kind of man women adore, how would you act at parties? Who might you ask out? If you really are capable and have learned a tremendous amount from past financial difficulties, what steps would you take? If you really are the kind of person who eats healthy food, what will you put in your grocery cart?

If you avoid taking any steps based on your new belief, you will just feed your old limiting belief. Taking action, even the smallest step, will help solidify your new un-limiting decision. Your first steps don’t have to be perfect, just headed in the right direction. And be sure to acknowledge yourself when you’ve taken that step.

See you at the top!

1. Welcome to a session hosted by @dayus4heaven (Adedayo Olabamiji) with via #BreakingBarriers

2. Today we are sharing on the power of positive declarations #BreakingBarriers.

3. Many thanks to @dayus4Heaven for the invite to share on his platform. #BreakingBarriers.

4. As a Christian, there is great power in positive declarations. Even God operates by making positive declarations #BreakingBarriers.

5. Let’s check out the Book of beginnings. Genesis 1:1-3 #BreakingBarriers.

6. Gen 1:2a And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. #BreakingBarriers.
7. Gen 1:2b … And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. #BreakingBarriers

8. Here we see that God was in the midst of a chaotic situation. Darkness was upon the face of the deep. #BreakingBarriers

9. Gen 1:2 says that the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. ‘Moved” in the Hebrew means brood, hover #BreakingBarriers

10. The first action God took was not to complain to friends on Social Media or the angels about the void on the earth. #BreakingBarriers

11. The first action He took was to hover, ponder, meditate, brood to conceive and bring forth a solution to the problem #BreakingBarriers

12. God knew what He wanted and as soon as He knew what He wanted, He produced the solution that addressed the chaos. #BreakingBarriers

13. God’s solution to the chaos in Genesis1:2 was encapsulated into words and you find them all the way from v3 to the end. #BreakingBarriers

14. Gen 1:3 And God said, Let there be light:and there was light. #BreakingBarriers

15. God shaped the world in Genesis 1 by speaking faith-filled words. #BreakingBarriers

16. God beat chaos by speaking faith-filled words. He declared light in the midst of darkness and light happened. #BreakingBarriers

17. The way to beat chaos in your life is not to verbalise it with words but to speak faith-filled words into it. #BreakingBarriers

18. If God had gone on verbalising darkness with words, light would never have happened on the earth. #BreakingBarriers

19. God carries out His business by speaking words. He never does anything on the earth without first declaring it. #BreakingBarriers

20. Heb 1:3 …., and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power,…. #BreakingBarriers

21. If God carries out His work successfully by speaking words, how does that impact us as human beings today? #BreakingBarriers

22. Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:and let them have dominion ….. #BreakingBarriers

23. God was so meticulous with words that He stated very clearly His original plan for man which was to have dominion… #BreakingBarriers

24. God said “let us make man in our own image…” If God ruled by words, we are also supposed to rule by words. #BreakingBarriers

26. Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; … #BreakingBarriers

28. So man (male+female) was created as an intelligent and powerful being to have dominion on the earth. #BreakingBarriers

29. God handed the dominion of the earth to Adam and Eve but they eventually messed things up in the garden. #BreakingBarriers

30. Adam yielded control of the earth to satan by his actions in the garden. Satan became god of this world. 2 Cor 4:4 #BreakingBarriers

31. This was yet another chaotic situation dropped on the laps of God by Adam and Eve. What did God do about it? #BreakingBarriers

32. He spoke words again. He made powerful declarations. #BreakingBarriers

33. Gen 3:15a And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed;… #BreakingBarriers

34. Gen 3:15b …it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. #BreakingBarriers

35. In Gen 3:15 God used words to prophetically pave the way for the coming of Jesus Christ called seed of the woman #BreakingBarriers

36. In Gen 3:15 God used words to declare that satan would bruise the heel of Jesus but Jesus would bruise his head. #BreakingBarriers

37. So from the very first day that Adam and Eve messed up in the garden, God already spoke the answer. #BreakingBarriers

37. That answer took thousands of years to happen. We had at least 400 years between Malachi and the birth of Christ. #BreakingBarriers

38. Jesus took long to come for one major reason. Satanic opposition because satan was now god of the world. #BreakingBarriers

39. Even when Jesus turned up for His earthly ministry, He ruled in His earthly affairs by speaking words. #BreakingBarriers

40. Please run through the gospels from Matthew to John. Jesus NEVER prayed to God to heal the sick. He spoke WORDS. #BreakingBarriers

41. In Mark 11:23, Jesus taught on the use and power of Words in defeating obstacles in life. #BreakingBarriers

42. Mark 11: 23a For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, ….#BreakingBarriers

43. Mark 11:23b .. and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe #BreakingBarriers

44. Mark 11:23c … that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. #BreakingBarriers

45. Jesus taught on the use of Words in Mark 11:23 to move (mountains) obstacles away in our personal lives. #BreakingBarriers

46. In Mark 11:23, Jesus stated that the words that will come to pass are the words we speak, believing and not doubting. #BreakingBarriers

47. Satan works overtime to ensure that we don’t believe in the power of the words that we speak. #BreakingBarriers

48. Satan works to ensure that you glorify idle words so that you will not place any worth on them in the day of battle. #BreakingBarriers

49. You cannot keep saying that all men are bad and find a good one to marry. Your words shape your world. #BreakingBarriers

50. You cannot keep saying that all women are bad and find a good one to marry. Your words shape your world. #BreakingBarriers

51. You cannot keep speaking poverty over your life and grow financially. Poor words will negate hard work. #BreakingBarriers

52. Your words predict your future world. When I hear you say passionately about yourself is your future. #BreakingBarriers

53. The doctors once told us after a few gynae tests that our only slimmest hopes were through IVF. #BreakingBarriers

54. On that day, in March 2005, we walked out of the hospital and held hands and declared our biblical expectations. #BreakingBarriers

55. In Dec 2005, Iyanu was born contrary to expert medical predictions. The Word of Faith through our lips brought her. #BreakingBarriers

56. It wasn’t God who afflicted Job as religionists try to make us believe. Job said the things he greatly feared have come upon him.

57. Don’t verbalise the fears of social media upon your life. Verbalise what God has written in the bible about you. #BreakingBarriers

58. Speak God’s Word into your life daily, that are exact opposite of what satan is telling you through social media. #BreakingBarriers

59. Your greatest asset in the business of #BreakingBarriers is your mouth. Your life is ruled by the words of your mouth.

60. We call it a night here. Thanks @dayus4Heaven for having me. Death and Life are in the power of the tongue. #BreakingBarriers

Big thanks to Uncle Sola Adio as I do call him and to every fam of #BreakingBarriers for staying tune this week.
